Water Systems & Health Services
Mission Africa strives to improve the living conditions of as many individuals as possible. Insufficient sanitation systems, safe drinking water, and medical care are major obstacles for thousands of Nigerians every year. Statistics reveal that a staggering 70% of the population in Sapele lacks access to clean drinking water, while an even more alarming 90% live without proper sanitation facilities. The dire situation is further exacerbated by the overwhelming presence of poverty, rendering essential healthcare services beyond the reach of the majority of the population. This combination of lacking water and health infrastructure leads to great number of everyday challenges.
To help combat this ever-present threat, Mission Africa is creating active on the ground initiatives that work in tandem with local resources. To fight immediate medical hardship, Mission Africa has partnered with diligent medical professionals to increase the reach of supplies and medical care. Mission Africa pushes this further by constructing wells and latrines in cooperation with individuals living in those communities long term. This dual-effort helps to provide assistance both now and in the future. This ensures the construction of communities that promote the well being of their citizens across time.
